week 2 DFI
What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
What did I learn that could be used with my learners , capability or workflow in my personal life?
- Learn- with Manaiakalani they have not defined what the 'LEARN' aspect (or any other aspect) of their Learn, Create, Share model has to replicate. There are no specific point you must include through this process that are set by them, only that they must link to the New Zealand Curriculum and you School Curriculum and Values.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
- Tidy TABS- Adjusting settings in you 'start-up' screen can allow specific Windows and Tabs to open with your start-up screen. Using Chrome Extensions such as 'Toby mini', 'Toby', 'One Tab' can group selected Tabs and open them all at once, close them all at once, or have them running slowly in the background awaiting your use.
- Glorified Gmail- Changing settings in Gmail can create specific Labels and Filters that attach to email addresses within your Inbox feed to make it more manageable.
- Cozy Calendar- Using Google Calendar can organize yourself and close colleagues or whanau members calendars so you all can view, adjust and commit to meetings, hangouts, and calls.
What did I learn that could be used with my learners , capability or workflow in my personal life?
- Handy Hangouts- Checking in with individuals or groups of students or whanau for both school and personal events or conferences can be easily accessible through Google Hangouts or Google Meet. Through this you can chat, call, video call, change camera views and share screens so the invited can see what you are doing on your screen in real time.
